COURSE DETAILS:
Change is a constant in many of our lives. All around us, technologies, processes, people, ideas, and methods often change, affecting the way we perform daily tasks and live our lives. This workshop will give any leader tools to implement changes more smoothly and to have those changes better accepted.
This workshop will also give all participants an understanding of how change is implemented and tools for managing their reactions to change.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Upon successful completion of the workshop, the participant will be able to:
- View change through the three elements of 1) content, 2) people, 3) process
- Identify the drivers of change
- Use strategies to support and align people with a change
- Identify the sources of resistance to change and create plans to deal with the resistance
- Describe the importance of resiliency in the context of change, and employ strategies the change leader and individual change participant can use to foster resiliency
- Explain the importance of flexibility in the context of change, and demonstrate methods the change leader and individual change participant can use to promote flexibility
- Develop a plan for communicating change
- Describe some practices and processes currently used in implementing and supporting change in organizations
This workshop is part of a series of 10 workshops offered by NCDA & BCIT. Successful completion of 8 of 10 workshops results in a Statement of Completion Award.
